Fadil shred 4158/7/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() Now, with COVID, I'm working from home and not going to Chicago. My one tip for newcomers would be to get a spot as close to the instructor as you can…the playlist is awesome but loud, and it can be hard to hear the instructor’s directions over the music.Has anyone gone to Shred415 and/or Orange Theory? I used to work out at Shred414 in Chicago and was in the best shape of my life. ![]() As you go more often and get more comfortable with where to place your feet and how to swing your arms, I imagine you would get better at isolating certain muscles and increasing the intensity of your punches. I wasn’t too sore the next day (I mostly felt it in my upper back and obliques), but I bet that was because all my “moves” ended up kind of being the same for the whole class. I can’t even tell you how well I slept that night. Overall impression:I would definitely go back! We felt incredibly welcomed as first-timers, and it was a killer workout. We finished up with ten minutes of core and five minutes of stretching (felt sooo good). This may have to do with the fact that I was concentrating so hard on hitting the bag in the right spot, but hey-whatever works! Active recovery in between each round meant more lunges, squats, and pushups, or just a water break if you wanted it. The eight rounds also went by super fast-a big clock on the wall counts down every round, and it seemed like the two minutes would be gone before we knew it. But once I started to get the hang of it and figure out where to place my feet, I started to have fun. As someone who had never worn boxing gloves let alone hit a punching bag before, the first couple rounds did feel a bit awkward. Each round involved a different combination of punches at varying speeds and intensities. Next up: the boxing! The boxing portion of the class consisted of eight two-minute rounds of boxing, with two minutes of active recovery in between. That probably sounds more miserable than it actually was-it felt like conditioning drills you would do before sports practice in high school, and the fifteen minutes flew by. We were then ready for the warm-up: Veronika led us through a series of lunges, squats, burpees, jumping jacks, and other full-body moves. These included hooks, uppercuts, and jabs-all intended to work different parts of the body and throw off a potential opponent (!). There were a few other newbies in the class, so our instructor, Veronika, gave us all a quick run-through of all the punches and stances we would be using. I’ll admit that I started to feel a little bit more badass at this point. It was also packed! We hurried to claim a bag and a spot on the floor, and then the staff showed us how to use the hand wraps that we had purchased. What it was like: This is going to sound silly, but when we first walked in, Jenny and I were both surprised at how much Title looked like a legit boxing gym (to be fair, my idea of a boxing gym is based on the three movies I’ve seen about boxing). Price: Free for your first class! (Keep in mind that you’ll have to spend $10 to buy hand wraps, but these are yours to keep for every time you go back.) After that, one class will cost you $35, though you can purchase various packages depending on how often you want to go. Quick description: 15 minutes of warm-up, eight rounds of boxing with active recovery in between, then 15 minutes of core and cooldown The workout: Boxing 60 at Title Boxing Club (Title’s signature “Power hour” class) I recruited my friend (and fellow Sequins & Stripes fan) Jenny to come with me, and we signed up for a 6 pm Friday “Boxing 60” class at the Lincoln Park location. After hearing a few friends rave about Title Boxing Club, I knew I had to give it a try. My typical routine consists of some combination of running, HIIT classes, yoga and spin, so I wanted to go out of my comfort zone for the first installment of our workout review series. We’re lucky that our city offers so many options for staying active, even when it can get pretty hard to drag yourself out of bed mid-February. Since the first quarter of the year always brings a renewed focus on wellness, Liz and I thought it would be fun to start a new monthly series where we review different workout classes around Chicago. ![]()

Antle, who owns the Myrtle Beach Safari, appeared in Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness, a Netflix documentary miniseries that focused on tiger breeders. But after lions were designated as an endangered species in December 2015, lions could only be traded between zoos and wildlife preserves that were part of an established breeding program and had permits. When Antle and Keith Wilson, the park’s former owner, began doing business in 2015, it was still legal to buy and sell lions, Welch said. Prosecutor Michelle Welch said Myrtle Beach Safari’s lucrative petting zoo motivated Antle to maintain a steady supply of immature lion cubs that he purchased from Wilson’s Wild Animal Park near Winchester, calling the arrangement a “cub pipeline” from Virginia to South Carolina. The jury acquitted Antle of five counts of animal cruelty and Judge Alexander Iden dismissed four additional animal cruelty charges against Antle and all charges against his two adult daughters, The Winchester Star reported. But what if I told you there was a way to write a minimum amount of code that's easy to maintain and test, and isn't hard to improve or adapt? Now, having a lot of singletons isn't a great idea, and the service factory pattern forces you to write the name of services numerous times – something which I, personally, despise. Developers attempted to do it in numerous ways – either by using singletons around the app or by making a service factory and passing an instance of that factory around. It's not intended to handle big data sets or more sophisticated data kinds, thus in certain circumstances, you might need to utilize Core Data, SQLite databases, or Property Lists as an alternative storage method.Trying to find an optimal way of injecting services around the codebase isn't a new topic. UserDefaults is an excellent tool for storing basic data types since it is straightforward to use and doesn't require other libraries or frameworks. It makes use of a key-value pair system, in which a value is assigned to a particular key, and the key is subsequently used to obtain the value. It enables an app to store little bits of information, such as user preferences or settings. In conclusion, UserDefaults is a fundamental storage mechanism in iOS, macOS, and watchOS. Pathos is an affection of the mind which produces a passionate desire. “Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.” This term is used for every kind of desire. Here are other descriptions of the word lust: The term ‘the lusts of the flesh’ is a phrase that describes the emotions of the soul, the natural tendency toward evil things. “Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.” In Romans 6:12, Paul warns us against letting sin reign in our bodies. “But sin, taking opportunity by the commandment, produced in me all manner of evil desire. Which is fine as, in conditions where you need it on, these are very sunny. Our Roamer leisure battery comes with an awesome app which lets us see exactly how much power is left and also being used at any one time. The battery bank that the Zero Breeze comes with is a 24v battery, so it did require some technical jiggery (more on that below)īut what this means is, instead of lasting around 5 hours (as per the Zero Breeze battery’s capability) we can leave it running all night long and only use around 80ah (see below for full rundown of power draw). We actually hard installed the Zero Breeze into our onboard 300ah 12v Lithium Ion polymer battery. Instead, the best use for Zero Breeze would be at nights, when we’re in places where temperatures don’t drop very low at night time and it’s incredibly humid and uncomfortable to sleep in. Instead, we realized the best way we could use it in the campervan would be for night time use.ĭuring the daytime, we’re usually out exploring anyway, or driving in the van where the onboard AC keeps us plenty cool. The Zero Breeze is never going to keep a large space cold, especially when parked in sunlight where it’s being heated.Īt the same time, if you left it on for hours on end, it would drain a LOT of power. That’s when we realized something important: The unit was pumping out really cold air, and it was comfortable so long as you sat in front of it. The front of our van is not separated, so the windows act as a sort of greenhouse. There were 3 of us in the van (all emitting body heat/moving around).Once your Zero Breeze is set up inside your van with the rear ducts properly venting to the outdoors, you're all set for an air-conditioned van!īefore hard-installing our unit, we tried it in Greece, just having the tubes coming out the window (sealed using the provided foam) and no it was not able to drastically cool the van. The Zero Breeze also produces slight condensation, so you'll have to be sure the condensation tube drips to a proper area either in or outside of your van upon installation. Otherwise, you are going to be fighting a losing battle, as the warm/hot air from outside will constantly be seeping into the space you are trying to cool. However, when using the Zero Breeze in an enclosed space like a campervan, you’ll need to make sure that the two rear ducts are pointing outside your van with a tight seal that allows no air to come in or out from outside, except via Zero Breeze! Of course, the other big way to use the Zero Breeze is to cool an enclosed space such as a tent or camper. It will then direct a jet of cold air through the front funnel, and you can sit directly in front of it in order to feel the benefit. In an open space, using the Zero Breeze Mark 2 is as simple as having cooled air at the press of a button. Okay, now that we’ve got all the technical mumbo jumbo out the way, let’s dig into how you actually use it! ![]() All of that hot air is evacuated to the outdoors through the help of the condenser coils, and a second fan in the machine.Įssentially, the Zero Breeze sucks in warm air using a fan, and its inner mechanisms create cool air to be released back into your campervan, while venting out the hot air. ![]() The hot air causes the refrigerant to change from a liquid to a gas, which creates cooled air.ĭuring the process of condensing the liquid to a gas, hot air is created. Then, the hot air flows over the evaporator coils, and the refrigerant in the machine absorbs the hot air. Those are in addition to the special cooling agent the machine uses known as refrigerant.įirst, the Zero Breeze draws warm air into the unit through the front of the unit, using its centrifugal fan. There are three main mechanical cooling components jam-packed into this compact AC unit: a compressor, condenser coil, and evaporator coil. Which, just so you know, is a VERY big deal for an air conditioner a device that would typically draw an incredibly large amount of power. ![]() The Zero Breeze air-conditioner functions in a similar way to other portable air-conditioners out there.īut what sets it apart is it is 100% battery powered. ![]() Gaslight anthem high top sneakers8/6/2023 ![]() ![]() That being said, it is a significantly frillier venue than what Gaslight or Rosenstock normally play. With the breathtaking view of the Brooklyn Bridge behind the stage, both bands wisely elected to not use their normal stage backdrops. Let me first say that Pier 17 is certainly a beautiful location to see a show. Roughly a month or so after the initial run of shows went on sale, it was announced that TGA would be playing Pier 17 in New York City along with Brooklyn’s favorite DIY son Jeff Rosenstock. ![]() In the original announcement there was no NYC show, with the closest being Holmdel, NJ’s PNC Arts Center, a rather LARGE seated tin shed of an outdoor amphitheater. So when the news of a tour and new material was announced it was no surprise that TGA’s legions of fans became somewhat frenzied in terms of where they were playing, how were tickets going to be procured and which shows would be destination events. I even recall one comment which he made at a solo show at Crossroads in Garwood, NJ how he would probably be gray and bald by the time Gaslight got together again. All four original members had their own things going on and primary songwriter, singer and guitarist, Brian Fallon, often made it clear in both interviews as well as his onstage banter that the band would not be getting back together anytime soon. Unfortunately when that tour ended it became pretty clear that the band would once again be going their separate ways. Initially it was going to be a one off show at NYC’s Gov Ball but that soon morphed into a string of shows mostly in the UK, the northeast US and Chicago. Then in 2018 the boys announced that they would be hitting the road for a very limited number of shows to celebrate their seminal ‘59 Sound album’s 10th anniversary. Needless to say, fans of the band were crushed. The four original band members-Brian Fallon, Alex Rosamilia, Alex Levine, and Benny Horowitz-along with touring member Ian Perkins, had decided after their year long tour back in 2015 behind their fourth studio album, Get Hurt, that the band would be shutting it down (at least temporarily).
